Laurin Weatherly, Attorney
Laurin Weatherly received her Juris Doctorate from the Charleston School of Law in 2013. She began her legal career in Columbia, South Carolina the same year. Laurin received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Business Associations from the University of South Carolina in 2010.
While in Charleston, Laurin was an active member of both the community and her law school. She served as a member of both the Student Bar Association and the Women in Law Board and volunteered with the Charleston County Guardian ad Litem program. Laurin also received the CALI award for excellence for Insurance Law in 2012. While in law school, Laurin became interested in the area of Tax Law and took several classes in advanced Federal Income Taxation. Eager to pursue her interests in Tax Law after graduation, Laurin became a member of the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers (ASTPS), a national, non-profit organization of tax professionals that trains attorneys focused on the fight for troubled taxpayers. ASTPS is the only organization solely devoted to the development of professional skills in this area of practice.
Laurin attended the “ASTPS Tax Problem Resolution Boot Camp” in Baltimore, Maryland, where she learned the skills needed to represent taxpayers before the IRS. She uses these skills daily in assisting individuals and businesses resolve their tax problems.

Tory graduated in 2013 with her Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law. In her undergraduate studies, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and minored in Sociology at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Prior to acquiring her law degree she lived in South Florida for three years. During that time she attended the University of Miami where she earned a Masters in Sport Administration and worked for the Miami Marlins in various capacities including Coordinator of New Ballpark Development.
While in law school, Tory was engaged with her law school community. She served as the Treasurer, and then President, of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society during her 2L and 3L years respectively. She was a member of both the Student Bar Association and the Business Law Society all three years.
Tory began her legal career in the consulting department of CohnReznick, LLP where she worked predominantly on legislative policy as it relates to renewable energy and low income housing tax credits. Shortly after joining the Ecton Law Firm, Tory attended the “ASTPS Tax Problem Resolution Boot Camp” in Orlando, Florida, where she too learned the skills necessary to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
Tory lives in Charlotte where she is a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association and actively participates with the Solo Practitioner and Small Firms Section. She chose the city after graduating to be close to family; including two brothers who are CPAs and work in the tax service industry. Finally, she has maintained her love of sports although she has changed fields and enjoys Knights baseball, Panthers football, and always the Georgia Bulldogs.
Tory is excited to practice out of the Ecton Law Firm’s Charlotte office where she is able to provide truly local assistance to individuals and businesses struggling with tax problems in North Carolina.
Shauna Hall, LEGAL ASSISTANT
Shauna Hall is a cum laude graduate of North Carolina State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2010. She also graduated with a minor in Spanish and studied abroad at the University of Hawaii’ in 2009.
Shauna began her professional career in the sales industry where she spent three years working in business to customer sales where she gained valuable experience in customer/client relations and developed her skills in customer service.
Shauna began her career with Ecton Law Firm in December 2013. She feels right at home working at a tax resolution law firm that truly helps improve people’s lives. Shauna is dedicated to making sure every client and potential client have the absolute best experience possible with Ecton Law Firm. Shauna will work hard to ensure our firm provides you with the comfort and ease of solving your tax resolutions.
Shauna and her husband, Andrew, have started their family right here in the Midlands. They are actively involved in their church and spend their free time enjoying all the amenities that Columbia and Lake Murray have to offer. She may not be from South Carolina originally, but Shauna has embraced the South Carolina's Southern Hospitality and loves to call Columbia, South Carolina, Home.
CHELSEA PRATT, ADMINISTRATIONChelsea was raised right here in the Midlands and attended Dutch Fork High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, with a Minor in Art History from the College of Charleston. Chelsea has a strong work ethic as she worked throughout her college days in various service industry. After several years working with minors, Chelsea brought her customer oriented attitude and compassion to the Ecton Law Firm.
